Villa Lazy Days
This exclusive private holiday home is situated on the outskirts of Playa Blanca's main town, only minutes from some of the finest beaches in Europe.
Spend the day on the beach and the long hot nights at the villa with your own private pool to cool you down...
As with all Spanish beaches they are great for the Family, where you can sunbath, people watch, buy ice cream and get some great food and local Spanish beers and wines from the local Bars and Restaurants that are along the beach seafronts. You get the entire all of this if you stay at Lanzarote`s private Villa Lazy Days.
Coastline
One has only to look at a map showing the coastline of this southern part of Lanzarote to immediately see it's potential.
One gigantic 9 kilometre bay shelters three bays each of which is extensive in itself.
These, in turn, contain smaller bays. Together, they stretch from the lighthouse at Pechiguera Point in the west to Papagayo Point in the east.
Most of this length of coastline, perhaps three quarters, is occupied by Playa Blanca - the remainder by the beaches and rugged coastline of Papagayo.
Most activity is at present centred around the old fishing village, but the town is now expanding rapidly eastwards and westwards.
Many regard the beaches of Papagayo - virtually a continuation of Playa Blanca - as some of the best in the whole of Spain and the Spanish Islands.
Seascape
It is nice to be beside the sea wherever you are, but a featureless seascape can be a bit uninteresting.
Nobody can say that about Playa Blanca. Its seascape provides a touch of enchantment and mystery.
Some 10 kilometres to the south across a narrow stretch of the Atlantic Ocean lies the island of Fuerteventura (second largest of the seven Canary Islands) and, just in front of it, the tiny island of Lobos.
This panoramic view takes up about half the horizon. The light conditions are forever changing. Sometimes it seems as though one could almost swim across, whilst at others it may be half hidden in cloud or completely invisible.
On most nights, the lights of Corralejo can be seen twinkling gayly across the water.
Lanzarote Villa Lazy Days Beaches
Within Playa Blanca there are a number of sandy beaches. The white beach in the very centre of the town, from which Playa Blanca gets it's name, has been awarded a European 'blue flag' - a tribute to it's cleanliness.
Playa Flamingo , a few minutes walk to the west, is a very attractive and safe beach suitable for families.
Playa Dorada, a few minutes walk in the opposite direction, is my own favourite - another 'blue flag' beach - ideal for early morning swimmers.
For those who like to wander a little further, of course, there are the Papagayo beaches - half a dozen beautiful white sandy bays, sheltering between rocky headlands.
Building in this area is prohibited, and the intention is to keep the whole area as nature created it.
These beaches can now be reached by a rather bumpy but safe road. Alternatively, the Papagayo beaches can be reached by sea taxi - an unusual and pleasant way to get there.
The sea taxis take about half an hour (and they depart regularly from the harbour just across the road from our Casas Del Sol estate).
